Like I was telling my friends on my way home, I’m the type of person who needs at least a day of my entire weekend dedicated for resting. It could be laying in bed just using my phone or laptop, watching movies all day or sleeping. But this weekend was definitely not one of those days.
Although it was not a restful weekend, I would say that it was great, I had fun. I’m so glad I was able to catch up a bit with my friends from high school and found some interesting places to have dinner or drinks.
I would say that since college started, I became more of a homebody type of person or if not, definitely more chill than when I was in high school. I don’t really enjoy going to crowded places or places where I can’t even hear myself and have good conversation with the people I’m with. But this weekend, I went to this bar called Baxter’s Inn. It’s an underground “speakeasy” whiskey bar. In fact, I had a really difficult time looking for this place because it was right in the middle of an alley. But in all honesty, I actually appreciated the place. The interior was more on bricks and woods, so it gave such an old vibe. Something like a bar you would find in the 1930s-1940s. And that’s the kind of stuff I appreciate. If you’d like to visit it one day, I’ll put their information below.
After discovering Baxter’s Inn, which I thought was already really loud and packed, we went to this club here in Sydney called Pacha to see Mash’d N Kutcher who I honestly don’t even know. This club had different parts. They had formal areas where people were more dressed up and they had this area that was very similar to pool club in Manila, Philippines, which I believe is called Ivy (correct me if i’m wrong though). I didn’t enjoy it so much because it was jam packed of drunk people and they always end up pushing you, which I hate so much. Plus, I hate having to say “excuse me” almost every second. And you know what, I didn’t even get to hear this DJ because I was too sleepy to stay (HAHA).
Obviously, I had to dress up for these places, which of course was my favourite part.
If you haven’t noticed, I’m an outfit repeater!!!!! Check my previous post for the dressed down and vintage version or to know more details about this top.
I wore this top last week except I dressed it up a bit more this time because of the places I went to. This top is from Georgia Alice. I love her pieces, so if you think this one caught your attention, go check her out. I paired it with a classic long black skirt from Chosen to make it look more formal. I love Chosen The Label because of their wide variety of basic necessities. They have all sorts of v-neck camisoles, shorts and of course, skirts. A black skirt is one of the basic necessities of every woman in my opinion. So if you don’t have one yet, this is a great option. They also have a satin/silk alternative. However, I thought that this material would be better because I’ll be able to wear it both during the day and night. And I think that when we’re investing on some pieces, that’s just one of the factors that we must take into consideration to be able to save more money and not have to buy too much clothes.
I bought both the top and the skirt from Tuchuzy, which I listed as one of my favourite shops. They’re an online retailer as well as a physical retailer so if you want to know more details about their whereabouts and whatnot, just click this link.
I completed this outfit with minimal block heels from Idée and a Trapeze bag from Céline. This bag is a combination of blue and black leather with suede cover.
Idée does not have an online shop yet but for those who live in Manila, I will put their details below as well.
I thought last night was going to be the most interesting night. But what was more interesting was discovering this restaurant/bar in Newtown called Mary’s. Again, details below. They had the best burger i’ve ever tasted in my entire life. But as I was queueing up to enter Mary’s, like I told Gab, I felt like I was entering hell and not a restaurant.
I mean look at these pictures! But I don’t know, it might just be me because I’m Catholic so I find these things really odd. Still though, I’d go back for the burger. It was fantastic.
I wanted to go for a more casual look today so I went for the basics and just added my current favourite fashion piece – the robe.
This top is again from Chosen The Label. I paired this with denim jeans from Acne Studios. And by the way, they have the most comfortable and body hugging jeans ever. So if you’re ever looking for a pair to invest on, this would be the one. I bought both the top and the bottom from Tuchuzy. I guess now you know why it’s one of my favourite shops. You find everything!
The robe is from Lucinda Hart, which I was able to get from Me and Moo (again, details below). You know how much I’ve been obsessing over robes. But this Lucinda Hart robe has its bonuses. One being it’s 100% silk and second, it’s handmade. Me and Moo is just right across Tuchuzy on Bondi so if you ever visit one you should definitely visit the other. If you guys are obsessing over robes like I am, visit my previous post for robe alternatives.
I completed this look with a pair of flats from Chanel and a mocha shoulder bag from Want Les Essentiels. This pair is the nude with black tip one. I love it because you can wear it with almost anything. It’s such a neutral pair and it literally goes with everything I have in my closet, and probably yours too. If you’re planning to buy one for yourself, this colour is absolutely perfect. This shoulder bag on the other hand is another piece I got from Tuchuzy. It’s so convenient because although it looks tiny, it has so much space. It serves as a wallet because it has so much card compartments and cash sleeves. But on the other side of the bag you can put other things such as make-up, apartment keys or phone. And guess where I got this shoulder bag.
If you guessed Tuchuzy, you’re right!
Overall, I’d say this weekend was productive, eventful and lots of discovery but I still wish I got to rest more. I’m just glad that after sharing my weekend with you guys, I know that I’ll be sleeping soundly. But sadly, back to school tomorrow.
Bye for now and I hope you all had a great weekend as well!
