Seeing as it’s the last day of October, I want to share with all of you something that I think is very exciting. Here are my favourite products for this month of October and since some of them are clothes, I also created a lookbook for you guys.
1. K. Jacques slip-ons
K. Jacques is a French brand in St. Tropez. They’ve been crafting leather sandals since 1933. They now have bags, jewelries and you even have the option of customizing your own sandals. I purchased my slip-ons from Incu, an Australian based lifestyle shop. They sell almost all sorts of cool stuff for both men and women. They sell candles, magazines, clothing, accessories, footwear, jewelries and etc.
I think I adore these slip-ons so much because they’re very sturdy, simple yet elegant, comfortable and meticulously crafted + they have leather soles, which is such a big bonus in my opinion. I walk these slip-ons almost everywhere – to school, Blue Mountains, mall, Bondi beach and look at its condition. It’s almost brand new! I also appreciate how K. Jacques made the stitches really thick and visible. It adds so much detail to the slip-ons and it’s really such a classic. I love all things classic.
2. Scented candles
I’ve recently been obsessing on scented candles. I have around four in different parts of my apartment. I love entering my apartment after a day of uni or errands and smelling it like “finally, home.”
The scented candle in the black jar is from Dusk. The scent is called Black Gold. When I first smelled this, I fell in love with it. It’s a soft lavender scent – very calming and relaxing. And don’t you just love how the cover is a black marble? And it’s legit. In fact, I purposely covered this one because it’s about a third empty already. The scented candle in the glass jar on the other hand, is from Peppermint Grove Australia. Their scented soy candles are handmade. It’s one of the things that I love about their scented candles. I bought this in a small boutique in Leura, Blue Mountains (click here to read about my experience in Blue Mountains). The scent is called Patchouli & Bergamot. I would describe this scent as something fresh and powdery.
Some tips that I learned to prevent your scented candles to start smelling like used matches:
– Before lighting them up, cut the wick to about 6mm.
– Do not blow it out when you want to kill the candle, cover it.
3. Aesop Immediate Moisture Facial Hydrosol
I love this product because it’s so convenient to carry around, it smells so good and it really serves its purpose. This product is a moisturizer spray, which you can use whenever your skin gets dry or when you just need something to refresh yourself. Coming from Spring break, my facial skin literally peels so much, which is why it’s so important for me to use this product every so often. And also, I’m in uni almost the whole day. By the time I get to my third subject, my face would have been in dire need of a refreshment already.
If you’re looking for a moisturizer spray that smells like rose, instantly moisturizes and refreshes and is very easy to carry around, then this is the product for you. However, if your skin does not really get dry in the middle of the day, then really, this would just be a waste of money, which is why it’s really so important for us to know our skin types.
4. Aesop Lucent Facial Concentrate
I bought this product recently and I’ve been loving it because it moisturizes my skin really well, but at the same time, it doesn’t leave an oily or sticky feeling. I used to use Benefit’s Total Moisture and I thought that it was really effective but always left my face so sticky and oily, so I switched to this one. This Lucent Facial Concentrate gives me a matte finish, but of course after thorough massage when the serum is fully absorbed by the skin. It’s basically a hydrating serum which is suitable for most skin types, which I think, is why it has been really effective on my skin. My skin is a combination of oily on the t-zone and dry on the cheeks and others. This product is said to be perfect for people with normal to dry skin and for people who live in cold environments.
5. Aesop Hand Balm
I have a horrible habit of nail biting whenever I’m feeling nervous, bored or thinking, so just imagine how much I bite whenever I’m writing these blog posts.
That’s the main reason why I need this hand balm.
I specifically love this hand balm because it has an amazing woody/nature smell, it gives me such a relaxing feeling after applying it on my hands, and it’s basically multi-purpose. I know it’s called a hand balm, but I apply this anywhere I want when I’m out and after application, no doubt, my skin becomes as soft as a baby’s butt. My skin gets really dry nowadays because of the change in temperature here in Sydney. It goes from hot to cold to hot again then back to cold. It’s insane, but this hand balm is what keeps my skin going from dry to healthy looking skin. I also use this product as a cuticle oil. Like I said, I’m a nail biter so I have hanging nails all the time. And the more I see them, the more I want to bite them. This product sort of helps me control myself from this bad habit because it moisturizes my cuticles whenever I apply them on my hands.
If you can relate and you feel that there’s a need for this product, then I swear, it’s a really a worthy investment.
6. Chanel slingback block-heel pumps
Short and simple – these ones are probably the most comfortable, classic but stylish and can-be-paired-with-anything heels.
I featured these heels on my lookbook below as to how I wear them sometimes.
I purchased all four of these this month and I think that I may have a slight obsession with bralettes. They’re so comfortable, free (girls, i’m sure that you can relate) and stylish. I wear these bralettes with v-neck tops, dresses and more.
On my lookbook, you’ll also see one of the ways as to how I wear my bralette.
The orange/nude bralette is from Cotton On Body, the white and powder blue bralette are from Lonely, which is available in Incu as well. And lastly, the black bralette is from One Night Stand, which is available in General Pants Co.
Hope you enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed writing and making this post.
